Welcome to my personal website

2/28/2009, Hello, Welcome to my new site. I have done some cool changes since the last site I made. I have been working on this site off and on for several months now and I am far from finished. Please look around, you might find some things interesting around here. I'm learning website tools in enhancing website development. Each month I find something new to change a presentation and have been making major revisions. I have made a push today to finally place this on the server. Your comments are welcome. My email address is below on each screen.

If you goto Favorite Links > Weather, I have created a virtual Disaster Monitoring Center. Just click a screen to goto a site. You can monitor storms, worldwide earthquakes, active hurricanes and realtime worldwide biohazards and accidents as well.

Even if you could fully understand the immensity of all of the infinities and understand the science of its nature, it would still stagger the mind of all its diversity, beauty & meanings. What little do we understand of this and so little time we have in it.

Ranchers in the county is setting their fields on fire. The smoke in the air is filtering the color of the moon. (4/10/09)

Back in the mid 70's in my pre-shortwave listening days, I used to scan for distant AM radio stations. I picked up a station back in the eastern U.S. I remember listening to this song of Walter Brennon that night on that distant station.

These are some amusing quotes that my friends and loved ones sent me by email that I liked. I also have added some that I found on the internet myself. People have stopped me locally to say that like these quotes.

The way some people find fault, you'd think there was some kind of reward.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

If you love something very much, give it away. If it comes back to you, it's yours forever. If it doesn't, it wasn't yours to begin with.

Here is some basic thoughts from an ancient military strategist named Sun Tzu. His art is taught to military officers, corporations and theorists around the world. I learned about his art in junior college. This is from his book, "The Art of War"

from: Sun Tzu (400–320 BCE)

"Generally in war the best policy is to take a state intact: to ruin it is inferior."

"It is sufficient to estimate the enemy situation correctly and to concentrate your strength to capture him. There is no more to it than this. He who lacks foresight and underestimates his enemy will surely be captured by him."

"For to win 100 victories in 100 battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill. Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy."

"It follows that those skilled in war can make themselves invincible but cannot cause an enemy to be certainly vulnerable. Therefore, it is said that one may know how to win, but cannot necessarily do so."
